This will cause a star to appear over the water cyclone. In the giant body of water, swim and follow the manta ray and go through five of the water rings it leaves behind. Go up and grab the Metal Cap from the green block and use to get the star. See the jet stream down below? Swim towards it and allow yourself to go through five water rings in a row to have a star appear. Metal Cap required! Get back to the docking station and go up to the surface to get some air. If you’re worried about missing a platform, you can always push down to get off the pole. Remember, turn you back towards the areas you want to jump to.
You must grab onto the moving poles and use them to get the red coins as the take you from platform to platform. Use the brick blocks to reach the platform up above. Head to the docking station and hit the purple switch. From there open the last chest sitting around the edge of the center, then open the chest at the center. Then open the chest to the right of the tunnel entrance. Swim to the bottom and open the chest closet to the clam. Swim up and out of the water, then hit the purple switch and use the brick blocks to get onto the submarine. Swim through and follow the tunnel into the docking station. Swim all the way down and look for the giant hole in the wall. Jump to each of the Dire, Dire Docks stars with the links below! Six are obtained through the level stages while the final star is earned once you collect 100 coins in a single run. Like every world in our Super Mario 64 walkthrough, Dire, Dire Docks has a total of seven stars to collect.
